THE HISTORY OF THE SARVAJANIK GANESHOTSAVA:

The inspiration behind Sri Kshipra Prasada Seva Trust is deeply rooted in the historic movement of Sarvajanik Ganeshotsava initiated by the great patriot Bal Gangadhar Tilak.

During British rule, public gatherings were restricted in order to suppress unity among people. Recognizing the power of culture and spirituality to unite society, Tilak introduced the idea of celebrating Ganeshotsava publicly.

In 1894, the first Sarvajanik Ganeshotsava was organized in Pune, transforming a sacred tradition into a powerful movement of unity, cultural pride, and national awakening.

ABOUT US:

Inspired by this great tradition, the journey of our organization began with simple childhood devotion toward Lord Ganapati. For many of us, Ganeshotsava was a festival filled with joy, devotion, and community spirit. As children, we would run through the streets visiting beautifully decorated Ganapati idols, chanting prayers and participating in festive celebrations. Over time, this devotion inspired a dream—to establish our own Ganapati celebration in our locality.

Through dedication, teamwork, and unwavering faith, that dream became reality. Even in the face of challenges such as heavy rains and limited resources, members worked together to create decorations, build shelters, and organize celebrations with sincerity and devotion.

These humble beginnings gradually blossomed into a devoted collective, leading to the formation of Sri Vinayaka Geleyara Balaga.which has been organizing Ganeshotsava in Bengaluru for more than fifteen years with devotion, discipline, and cultural enthusiasm.

Over time, the activities expanded beyond festival celebrations to include social service, spiritual education, and community welfare initiatives. With the blessings of Lord Ganapati and encouragement from devotees, this journey eventually led to the establishment of Sri Kshipra Prasada Seva Trust, a registered institution dedicated to both spiritual upliftment and social service. Our story is not simply the story of an organization. It is a living journey where devotion becomes service, unity becomes strength, and faith becomes meaningful action.
